Plan Sponsorship & Premiums
- Employee coverage is fully sponsored by Toku
- Dependent coverage availability and cost may vary
- Annual premium rates by age are available here
Understanding Your Premium & Billing
Premiums for this plan are age-banded, meaning the annual rate is determined by the covered person's age at the time of enrollment. You can find the full schedule of rates by age in the table linked above.
Premiums - Annual
A few things to keep in mind:
- Toku fully covers the cost of employee coverage - there is no premium deducted from your paycheck for your own plan.
- When you are added to the policy, please note that the employer is typically billed one month after enrollment is processed. This is a standard part of how the insurer administers the plan, so there may be a short delay between your coverage start date and when the premium is invoiced to Toku.
- This billing lag is expected and does not affect the start of your coverage - you are covered from your enrollment effective date.
- Any dependent costs will be deducted from your payroll to recoup the full invoice amount. If you have any questions about your rate or when your coverage begins, reach out to [email protected].

Important Notice: Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Insurance
⚠️ ILOE is a mandatory UAE federal insurance scheme that is separate from Toku's health benefits. It is NOT administered, sponsored, or enrolled by Toku. Each employee is personally responsible for subscribing and paying premiums directly to the ILOE scheme. Toku is including this notice to confirm that we have notified you of this obligation so you can complete enrollment and avoid government penalties.
What ILOE Is
The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) insurance scheme is a federal program required of all private sector employees working in the UAE - including employees engaged through an Employer of Record like Toku. It provides a cash benefit if you lose your job involuntarily, equal to up to 60% of your basic salary (subject to a cap) for up to 3 months, provided subscription and contribution requirements have been met.
Who Must Register
All UAE private sector employees, regardless of nationality. This includes every employee employed through Toku in the UAE.
Premium Tiers (paid by the employee, not by Toku)
- Category A — Basic salary of AED 16,000 or less: AED 5/month (AED 60/year). Maximum benefit AED 10,000/month.
- Category B — Basic salary above AED 16,000: AED 10/month (AED 120/year). Maximum benefit AED 20,000/month. Premiums can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
How to Enroll
Employees can subscribe through any of the following channels:
- ILOE website: https://www.iloe.ae
- ILOE mobile app (iOS and Android)
- Bank ATMs and kiosks
- Business service centers, money exchange houses, and du/etisalat outlets
- SMS (for select telecom providers) What to have ready: Emirates ID and a UAE mobile number.
Deadlines & Penalties
- Employees must subscribe within the timelines set by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) after starting employment. Failure to subscribe results in a AED 400 fine.
- Failure to keep premiums current for more than 3 months results in an additional AED 200 fine. Unpaid amounts may be deducted from wages or end-of-service benefits.
Toku's Notification Confirmation
By publishing this notice in our employee knowledge base and including ILOE instructions in the UAE onboarding email sent to every new joiner, Toku confirms that all UAE employees have been formally notified of the ILOE registration requirement at the start of employment. ILOE is not part of the benefits package Toku offers and is not administered by Toku - employees remain personally responsible for enrollment, premium payment, and compliance with MOHRE requirements.
For official information, ILOE-specific questions, or registration support, please refer to https://www.iloe.ae or contact the ILOE administrator directly. Toku is not the administrator of this scheme and cannot enroll employees on their behalf.
