This resource explains the easiest way to generate an API token in Rippling for use with the TOKU <> RIPPLING Integration. Once you have your API token simply send this to your onboarding manager.
Rippling's Enterprise tier provides full access to APIs
1. Navigate to the API Tokens App
- Log in as a super admin in Rippling
- Click Company Settings in the navigation bar.
- Click on API Tokens.
- This screen lists all tokens you’ve created or revoked, along with their owners.
2. Create a New API Token
When creating a token, fill in the following fields:
- Name
- Provide a clear, descriptive name - for example:
- Toku Stablecoin Payroll Integration
- Unique Identifier
- Enter the unique identifier for the token.
- API Version
- Select the API version. Tokens will stay on this version until updated or deprecated. Tip: The Name and API Version fields can be updated later.
3. Configure Scopes
- Assign all scopes (permissions) to the token to enable the proper access. (Only admins will have access to these fields in your Toku account)
- The available scopes are based on your current user permissions.
4. Copy and Save the API Token
- After you submit the form, the API token will be displayed once.
- Important: You will not be able to view it again.
- Copy it immediately and store it in a secure location.
- Treat the token like a password - never share it in public channels.
5. Security Notification
When a token is created, Rippling automatically sends an email notification to:
- The token owner
- API Token app administrators
- Super/full administrators Email subject:
New API token created for your organization
