Toku provides a supplemental benefits program in Australia to support employees' healthcare and wellbeing needs. Coverage includes private healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, allied health services, and related benefits through a group policy with GU Health, arranged by our broker DKG Insurance Brokers.
Effective 15 July 2026, GU Health replaced Bupa as Toku's health insurer in Australia. If you were previously covered under the Bupa plan, see the Switching from Another Insurer section below - your transfer is handled for you as part of enrolment.
The sections below provide an overview of the plan, the enrollment process you must complete to activate your cover, and coverage limits.
Important - Enrollment is not automatic. Eligible employees must actively join the GU Health corporate plan via the online enrolment portal in order to be covered. See the Eligibility & Enrollment section below for step-by-step instructions.
Summary of Australia Health Insurance (GU Health)
Toku partners with GU Health, Australia's corporate health insurance specialist, to provide private healthcare coverage for eligible employees and their dependents. This policy covers medical expenses resulting from sickness or accident and applies only to treatment received within Australia.
Plan Products
Your Toku-sponsored GU Health coverage is made up of two combined products:
- Superior Gold Hospital — covers in-hospital medical treatment at Gold level (the same tier as the previous Bupa cover)
- Corporate Health 80 Extras — covers everyday services like dental, physiotherapy, psychology, and allied health, with dedicated per-category limits Employees on visas are covered under the overseas visitor (OVC) product: Optimum Gold Hospital with Med $250(S)/$500(F) Excess + Corporate Health 80.
Your Extras limits are fresh from day one — GU Health does not apply portability deductions for corporate groups, so you start with full annual limits regardless of what you claimed with a previous insurer.
Premium & Plan Overview
Toku sponsors healthcare coverage for eligible employees in Australia.
- Employee Coverage: Fully sponsored - no payroll deduction for the single-employee tier
- Dependent Coverage: You can select the family tier during enrolment; the dependent portion of the premium (≈ $283/month at Base tier) is deducted from your salary each pay cycle
| Coverage Type | Annual Premium (AUD, Base tier) |
|---|---|
| Single | $3,398.96 - fully sponsored, $0 to you |
| Couple / Family | $6,797.96 - portion above the single tier is salary-deducted |
Premiums vary by income tier and state of residence.
Eligibility & Enrollment
Enrollment is not automatic - Toku does not enroll you on your behalf. As an eligible employee, you must actively join the GU Health corporate plan to activate your cover.
How to Enroll
- Visit the dedicated enrolment portal: members.guhealth.com.au/dkgsme
- Enter the web access code: workco101 (case sensitive - enter in lowercase)
- Complete the mandatory fields and choose the single or family tier
- If you have existing cover with another insurer, provide your current fund details so GU Health can arrange your transfer (see below)
- Once processed, GU Health will issue your membership details directly
Adding Dependents
You can upgrade your cover to include a Partner, Spouse, and/or Children by selecting the family tier during enrolment. Dependent cover involves an additional cost that is salary deducted each pay cycle (≈ $283/month at Base tier; varies by income tier and state).
Switching from Another Insurer
Do not cancel your existing policy yourself. During enrolment, confirm that you have existing cover and provide your insurer's details. GU Health will then:
- Request a clearance certificate from your existing fund to confirm continuity of cover
- Cancel your old policy on your behalf
- Waive waiting periods you have already served - provided the benefit being claimed is the same as, or a lesser benefit than, what you held under your previous fund. Where a new benefit level exceeds your previous cover, a waiting period may still apply to the difference. Transferring from the Bupa plan: your GU Health cover commences 15 July 2026 even if your enrolment completes later - GU Health backdates commencement. If you need treatment in any gap window between Bupa cancellation and GU Health setup, keep your receipts and claim through GU Health once enrolled.
Summary of Covered Services
