The Worldwide plan excludes long-term coverage in the USA, Hong Kong, and Singapore; the Hong Kong & Singapore plan includes up to 6 months of full USA coverage. Dependents can be added once the client approves the cost - who pays for dependents is the client's decision.

What's Covered

  • Inpatient: private room at 100% of usual/customary rates; surgery, ICU, cancer treatment, organ transplants; maternity up to $4,500 per delivery (20% co-insurance, 10-month waiting period); pre-authorization required for stays of 5+ nights.
  • Outpatient: GP and specialist visits at 100%, diagnostics, prescriptions, physiotherapy; mental health up to 20 sessions/year (Premium Plus); free follow-up visits within 7 days.
  • Dental: preventive up to $1,500/year (orthodontics not covered). Vision: exams and glasses up to $500/year.
  • Emergency: treatment outside the home country up to $50,000/year; medical evacuation and repatriation up to $100,000; 48-hour notification rule for emergency admissions.
  • Preventive: vaccinations up to $500/year and wellness check-ups. An Employee Assistance Program is included at no cost.

Enrollment

Employees opt in during onboarding via the Remote Health enrollment form; SafetyWing contacts them within 5 business days to finalize. Coverage begins on the 1st or 15th of the month, whichever comes first on or after the start date (hired Jan 2 โ†’ Jan 15; hired Jan 18 โ†’ Feb 1). On termination, coverage ends on the aligned 1st/15th date.

Country Restrictions

SafetyWing cannot cover residents of certain countries - notably the USA, Canada, UAE, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, and Puerto Rico, among others (Toku offers dedicated local plans in several of these). Hong Kong and Singapore residents use the dedicated HK & Singapore plan. Ask [email protected] to confirm coverage for a specific country before planning a hire around this benefit.
