Statutory Benefits
Employees receive Croatia's statutory social security entitlements through standard payroll, including the mandatory Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 pension contributions. The benefits below are voluntary add-ons - employees can enroll in either, both, or neither.
Health Insurance: Remote Health by SafetyWing
Toku sponsors 100% of the employee premium for Remote Health, an international private medical plan usable in Croatia and worldwide. Coverage includes inpatient and outpatient care, mental health, dental and optical, emergency treatment and medical evacuation, preventive care and vaccinations, maternity and newborn care - and chronic and pre-existing conditions from day one with no waiting period.
Monthly premiums (per person, billed to client):
| Age | Monthly premium (USD) |
|---|---|
| 0 - 17 | $102 |
| 18 - 39 | $160 |
| 40 - 49 | $237 |
| 50 - 59 | $364 |
| 60 - 74 | $662 |
Key limits: maternity up to $4,500 per delivery (10-month waiting period); preventive dental up to $1,500/year; eye exams and glasses up to $500/year; emergency treatment outside home country up to $50,000/year; evacuation/repatriation up to $100,000. An Employee Assistance Program is included at no cost.
Enrollment: the employee completes the Remote Health enrollment form during onboarding; SafetyWing follows up within 5 business days. Coverage begins on the 1st or 15th of the month, whichever comes first on or after the start date. Dependent coverage can be added with client cost approval.
Voluntary Pillar 3 Pension (Raiffeisen)
Employees can opt into the Raiffeisen Voluntary Pension Fund โ private retirement savings with potential tax advantages. The employee chooses a monthly contribution amount deducted from gross salary; the default model is employee-funded only, though employer-contribution arrangements can be discussed with Toku. The deduction is documented in an annex to the employment contract, and amounts can be changed or stopped at any time. Nothing extra appears on the standard payslip and no additional filings are needed from the employee.
