If your organization employs you in Switzerland through Toku, your onboarding asks for your AHV/OASI number (your Swiss social security number) and a document that shows it. Toku needs it for your Swiss social insurance and benefits enrolment, so it is collected once, in the Identification Documents step, and stored encrypted.

Before you start

  • You must be signed in to your Toku account at app.toku.com with your onboarding checklist open.
  • Your AHV/OASI number. It is 13 digits and starts with 756, usually printed as 756.1234.5678.97. You can find it on your health insurance card, insurance card, or any document showing your AHV/OASI number.
  • A photo or scan of that document as a PDF, PNG, or JPEG file under 10 MB.

Enter your AHV/OASI number

  1. On your onboarding checklist, select step 5, Identification Documents. It opens as a full page headed Identification Documents with the line "Upload copies of your identification documents for verification."
  2. Upload your passport photo page in Passport (Photo Page). This box is required. National ID Card, Tax Number / Tax ID Document, Other Identification Document, and Proof of Address are optional.
  3. Scroll down to Social Security Number (AHV/OASI) and type your 13-digit number. You can type it with the dots (756.1234.5678.97) or as plain digits. The box hides what you type; select Show to check it. Under the box, grey text reads "Found on your health insurance card, insurance card, or any document showing your AHV/OASI number."
  4. In AHV/OASI Number Document, drag and drop your file or click the box to choose it. When the file name appears in green inside the box, the upload worked. Select the box again if you need to replace the file.
  5. Select Accept and Continue. The button stays greyed out until every required box has a value. Success looks like step 5 showing as complete on your checklist.

If the number is rejected

  • "AHV number must be 13 digits starting with 756" means the format is wrong. Check that you typed all 13 digits and that they start with 756.
  • "Invalid AHV number - check digit does not match" means the length and prefix are right but one digit was mistyped. Select Show and compare the number with your card digit by digit.
  • "This field is required" means the number or the document is missing. Both are required, and step 5 cannot be skipped.
  • "File must be under 10MB" or "File type not supported. Please upload PDF, PNG, or JPEG." means the document file needs to be changed before it can be attached.

Good to know

  • Once you save the step, Toku keeps the full number encrypted. If you reopen the step, the box only ever shows the last four digits, for example ******7897.
  • If you completed the Identification Documents step before the AHV/OASI boxes were added and then select Submit Onboarding, you may see "Onboarding data incomplete: Identification Documents → ahvNumber: This field is required". Open step 5 again from your checklist, enter the number, upload the document, select Accept and Continue, then submit again. Your other steps stay saved.
  • Swiss employees who finished onboarding before these boxes were added in August 2026 were not asked for the number. You can add it yourself: on your profile page in Toku, find the Tax Information card, select Edit, type the full 13-digit number in the National ID field, and select Submit. The same checks apply, and the change does not need approval.
