🧾 Overview

This guide covers payroll deadlines for submitting changes and when employees get paid. If a payday falls on a weekend or local holiday, payment is processed on the prior business day.

Cutoff reminders:

Semi-monthly: Submit changes 7 days before payday
Monthly: Submit changes by the 10th of the month

🇺🇸🇨🇦 Semi-Monthly Payroll (US & Canada)

Paid on the 15th and last day of each month.

January

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 30th (Fri) → Changes due 23rd

February

Mid-month: Pay 13th (Fri) → Changes due 6th
End-of-month: Pay 27th (Fri) → Changes due 20th

March

Mid-month: Pay 13th (Fri) → Changes due 6th
End-of-month: Pay 31st → Changes due 24th

April

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 30th → Changes due 23rd

May

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 29th (Fri) → Changes due 22nd

June

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 30th → Changes due 23rd

July

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 31st → Changes due 24th

August

Mid-month: Pay 14th (Fri) → Changes due 7th
End-of-month: Pay 31st → Changes due 24th

September

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th
End-of-month: Pay 30th → Changes due 23rd

October

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th

November

Mid-month: Pay 13th (Fri) → Changes due 6th

Mid-month: Pay 15th → Changes due 8th

Paid on the last day of each month. If payday falls on a weekend or local holiday, you'll be paid the business day before.
