Learn how to add and verify a crypto or stablecoin wallet to your Toku profile for payments. Covers wallet setup, supported networks and tokens, allocation settings for multiple wallets, and key differences between crypto and fiat invoices.

Toku supports payments in cryptocurrency and stablecoins, giving you the flexibility to receive part or all of your compensation directly to a digital wallet. To get started, you'll need to add and verify your wallet address within the platform to ensure your payments are delivered securely and on time.

This article covers how to add a crypto or stablecoin wallet to your profile, which currencies and networks are supported, and what to keep in mind to avoid common issues when setting up your wallet for the first time.

Steps:

  1. Log in to https://app.toku.com to access your profile.
  2. Once you’ve logged in, you should be on the “My Employment Information” page.
  3. Scroll down toward the bottom of your profile and click on “Edit Wallets”.
  4. Click Add First Wallet to begin the setup process.
  5. Enter a Wallet Name to help you identify this wallet.
  6. Enter your Wallet Address — make sure to copy and paste it directly to avoid errors.
  7. Select the Network your wallet operates on.
  8. Select the Token you'd like to receive payments in.
  9. Click Add New Wallet to save your wallet details.
  10. On the confirmation screen, click Got it! to proceed.
  11. A small test transaction will be sent to your wallet. Click the eye icon to view the transaction on the block explorer, or check your wallet directly to confirm you received it.
  12. Once you've verified the test transaction was received, click Approve to finalize your wallet.
  13. To allocate a portion of your pay to this wallet, click Edit Net Compensation.
  14. Enter the percentage or net amount of your pay you'd like to receive in tokens.
  15. Click Save Changes to apply your preferences. The Toku Team will be notified of your wallet address. If needed, they will also perform a test transfer closer to your pay date to verify your wallet.

Allocation settings for multiple wallets

If you're a contractor with more than one wallet, you can set a percentage allocation to control how your crypto or stablecoin payments are distributed across your wallets.

Setting Your Wallet Allocation

  1. Navigate to the Wallets section of your profile.
  2. If you have more than one wallet, you'll see the option to set a percentage allocation for each.
  3. Enter the desired percentage for each wallet. Your allocations must add up to 100%.

Important: How Wallet Allocation Works with Invoices

Your wallet allocation only applies to invoices submitted for crypto or stablecoin. It does not apply to fiat invoices. This means:

  • If you want to split your pay between crypto and fiat, you must submit two separate invoices - one for the crypto/stablecoin amount and one for the fiat amount.
  • Your wallet allocation percentages will only determine how the crypto or stablecoin invoice is distributed across your wallets.
  • Fiat invoices will never be routed to your wallets, regardless of your allocation settings.

Example

Let's say you have two wallets, each set to a 50% allocation, and you want to be paid $2,000 - $1,000 in USDC and $1,000 in fiat.

  • Submit a crypto invoice for 1,000 USDC. Based on your 50/50 allocation, 500 USDC will go to Wallet A and 500 USDC will go to Wallet B.
  • Submit a separate fiat invoice for $1,000. This amount will be paid via your standard fiat payment method. None of it will be sent to your wallets. If you only submit a fiat invoice, no funds will be sent to either of your wallets - even if you have wallet allocations set up.

Wallet Allocation for Employees

If you're an employee and would like to receive a portion of your pay in crypto or stablecoins, the best way to get started is through the stablecoin allocation flow.

How to Set Up Stablecoin Allocation

  1. Log in to your Toku account.
  2. Look for the blue banner at the top of your profile prompting you to set up stablecoin allocation.
  3. Click the banner and follow the guided steps to select what percentage of your pay you'd like to receive in stablecoin.
  4. Add or confirm your wallet address during the setup process.
  5. Review and confirm your allocation preferences. Using the stablecoin allocation flow ensures your setup is properly configured and your payments are processed correctly each pay cycle.
