👋 Welcome to Toku. Toku is your Employer of Record (EOR) in Denmark. We employ you through the appropriate local Toku entity and manage the compliance, HR, payroll, and benefits administration connected to your employment. Your day-to-day work, goals, and role direction continue to come from the organization you support.

📄 Your signed employment agreement governs your individual terms, including pay, working hours, probation, notice, and any custom arrangements. Mandatory local law also applies. If this guide and your agreement appear different, contact Toku before relying on the summary.

Pay schedule and payroll changes

You are normally paid monthly, on the last business day of the month. The standard monthly cutoff for payroll changes is generally the 10th, but the exact cutoff can vary by country and organization. Check the Toku: 2026 and 2027 Payroll Calendar and Deadlines or contact Toku before relying on a specific date.

You will receive a payslip for each payroll cycle showing your gross pay, required deductions, and net pay. Keep your bank, tax, and personal information current in Toku, and notify us promptly if anything changes.

Your employment terms and probation

  • Toku issues a compliant local employment agreement for every hire, with written terms provided within the statutory deadlines from the start date.
  • Indefinite-term employment is the default. Fixed-term contracts generally may not exceed three renewals or three years without objective justification.
  • Most professional hires are salaried employees (funktionaerer) under the Salaried Employees Act, which provides structured notice, severance, and sick pay protections.
  • The standard probation period is 3 months for salaried employees. Your signed employment agreement governs the notice terms that apply during probation.

Working hours and overtime

Your normal working hours are stated in your signed employment agreement and may vary by role, schedule, or applicable collective agreement. Toku does not expect routine overtime. Do not work overtime or additional hours unless your manager has approved them in advance. Any overtime or additional-hours treatment follows your signed agreement and mandatory local law.

Statutory benefits

Statutory : the ATP supplementary pension, occupational injury insurance, and maternity fund coverage. Healthcare in Denmark is universal and tax-funded, so no employer health contribution is needed, and the state pension is funded through general taxation. Unemployment insurance is voluntary and arranged by employees through A-kasser.

Additional Toku benefits

Toku's benefits information for Denmark is in the Benefits section of 🇩🇰 Hiring in Denmark. Review it for current coverage, eligibility, enrollment, and support information. It is the source of truth for Toku-provided supplemental benefits in this country.

Stablecoin payroll and token grants

ℹ️ Stablecoin payments are not supported in Denmark at this time.

Where permitted by local law and enabled for your organization, Toku can support token grant administration. Availability depends on your organization's program and your individual compensation arrangements.

For token grant questions, use the Toku: Contact our Team for Support! to reach the Token Grant Administration team.

Annual tax documents

Your årsopgørelse (annual tax assessment) is issued by the Danish Tax Agency, normally in March following the tax year, and is available directly in TastSelv. It is not an employer-issued annual tax form, so you should access it through SKAT rather than wait for a Toku Documents upload. Your December payslip includes a year-end e-income summary to help you check the reported amounts. Any separate employer-issued document Toku provides will be uploaded to Documents. Check SKAT's annual assessment guidance for the exact release date each year.

Leaving Toku: resigning

Giving notice

Send a formal resignation letter to Toku, your legal employer, by uploading it to your Toku Documents or emailing [email protected]. Notify your manager too, and follow your signed employment agreement's notice period and any local signature or delivery requirements. Toku will help confirm the employment end date and any additional formalities.

Documents and final payroll

You will receive formal offboarding/termination documentation through DocuSign, with a copy uploaded to Documents. It will explain the applicable departure terms and final-pay arrangements. Review it and contact Toku if anything is unclear. Toku does not send a separate personalized general offboarding email; watch for DocuSign and any required documents delivered separately by Toku or the local provider.

Holiday pay: Outstanding statutory holiday pay is processed through the applicable holiday-pay arrangements, including FerieKonto. Check “Se og bestil feriepenge” on borger.dk after final payroll and follow the claim instructions; leaving your job does not automatically mean all holiday pay is paid directly with your final salary. See official guidance on changing jobs and holiday pay.

Benefits when you leave

Benefits are managed by external carriers and providers. You may receive an email from each provider and/or see your coverage status updated in its portal or app. Confirm your exact coverage end date, dependent coverage, any continuation options, and relevant deadlines directly with the provider. Do not assume that coverage ends on your final working day or continues automatically.

For Danica Pension, employer contributions end through the offboarding process; your existing pension savings are not canceled. Ask Danica about any associated insurance and future contribution or transfer options. Review the Benefits section of 🇩🇰 Hiring in Denmark for your plan, and contact [email protected] for Danica contacts. Toku coordinates the employer-side offboarding; contact us if you need help resolving a missing or unclear provider update.

Your Toku account

You will retain access to your Toku account and employment documents after leaving. For help updating your email, resetting your password, or changing 2FA, email [email protected].

How to get help

Toku is your employer and your first point of contact for employment support. For payroll, payslips, statutory deductions, or payroll tax documents, email [email protected]. For benefits support, email [email protected]. For leave, employment documents, immigration, or other employment matters, use Toku: Contact our Team for Support! to reach the right team.

Important

This guide is a general summary and does not replace your signed employment agreement, Toku policies, benefit plan documents, or applicable law. Your exact entitlements may vary based on your work location, tenure, role, collective agreement, or individual terms. Where there is a conflict, the applicable law and binding employment documents control.
